Born into a family of journalists and having worked as a journalist herself for over half a decade, Francesca has a broad network of connections with regional, state and federal media outlets. More recently she has worked as a communications consultant in private and public sectors, and has developed a broad network of contacts in local and state Government departments and small to medium business enterprises. She is also connected with many Victorian arts and non-for-profit organisations and is a current board member of the inaugural Sorrento Writers Festival. 

Francesca is skilled at communicating clearly and articulately with a diverse range of stakeholders. Having worked as a journalist and a communications officer, she is adept at drawing out the important details, creating key messages and developing innovative and effective communications and marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences. Having worked in fast-paced and often high-stress situations, Francesca is highly organised, time-efficient and quick to establish and implement priorities. 

Technical Experience

  • Over half a decade experience as a journalist across a range of news and lifestyle media outlets. 

  • Six years’ experience as a communications office in the public sector developing and implementing innovative and effective communications and marketing strategies to promote events, major projects, and large-scale communications campaigns.  

  • Developed and managed internal communications for City of Ballarat during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2019-20 bushfire season, and an organisational restructure. 

  • Developed and implemented digital marketing strategies for private and public sectors. 

  • Developed highly engaging content across City of Ballarat’s social media and digital channels. 

  • Launched and then later managed the communications and media strategy for City of Ballarat’s 2022-23 Budget and 2022-23 rates hike.
