Indigenous storytelling

At Premier Strategy, we are deeply committed to supporting Indigenous culture and ensuring cultural narratives are authentically represented. It is this commitment that drives what we do in creating strategic connections between government, businesses and community. Aboriginal storytelling, through conversation, song, dance and art, ensures our country’s rich and diverse Indigenous cultural heritage continues to be preserved and respected.

One of the ways we demonstrate our support is through our approach to Indigenous engagement, collaborations and sponsorships. For the past two years, Premier Strategy has sponsored football and netball uniforms adorned with Indigenous artwork for teams at the East Point Football Netball Club. These designs created by local Indigenous artist, Shakira Winmar, are not only visually striking but also carry an important cultural significance.

About the artist

I was born in Melbourne. My family is from Pingelly in Western Australia. I have lived in Ballarat since I was nine years old. I have always known my Aboriginality, and have recently found my place in the Ballarat Community, and enjoy linking my children into the Community and to understand their heritage.

Art is helping to learn more of my culture.  I have always liked art, but now I am really enjoying it.
